چکیده

A traditional lean transformation process does not validate the future state before implementation, relying instead on a series of iterations to modify the system until performance is satisfactory. An enhanced lean process that includes future state validation before implementation is presented. Simulation modeling and experimentation is proposed as the primary validation tool. Simulation modeling and experimentation extends value stream mapping to include time, the behavior of individual entities, structural variability, random variability, and component interaction effects. Experiments to analyze the model and draw conclusions about whether the lean transformation effectively addresses the current state gap can be conducted. Industrial applications of the enhanced lean process show it effectiveness.

Prediction of Nitrogen Injection Performance in Conventional Reservoirs Using the Correlation Developed by the Incorporation of Experimental Design Techniques and Reservoir Simulation

Enhanced oil recovery using nitrogen injection is a commonly applied method for pressure maintenance in conventional reservoirs. Numerical simulations can be practiced for the prediction of a reservoir performance in the course of injection process; however, a detailed simulation might take up enormous computer processing time. In such cases, a simple statistical model may be a good approach to...

Using Simulation to Understand and Optimize a Lean Service Process

This paper describes the application of discrete event simulation to understand and optimize a lean service process. Simulation is being used increasingly in the design and improvement of lean manufacturing systems. We now apply simulation to the emerging notion of lean service. We use the case study of a lean auto repair facility to demonstrate the significant role that simulation can play in ...

Application of Lean Principles to Design Processes in Construction Consultancy Firms

Simulation modelling and Lean principles have both been applied in the construction industry to improve work processes. The outcomes from their implementation are outstanding and have motivated construction researchers to seek means by which other aspects of construction production could benefit from this development. Therefore the aim of this research is to use computer simulation as a tool fo...
